Center for Modern Indian Studies
The Center for Modern Indian Studies at the University of Cologne (CMIS-UC) combines the India-related research activities of the Faculties of Economics and Social Sciences, Philosophy (including the Institute for Geography) and Law of the University of Cologne to strengthen the German-Indian research and intercultural exchange. The CMIS-UC is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service through the Federal Ministry for Education and Research. It was established at the University of Cologne by Professor Matthias Pilz from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Lea Zenner is the executive director of the center.
Both short-term lecture series and research stays for PhD- and postgraduate students can be funded with fixed rates in India and in Germany. Those from the three faculties who are interested are asked to contact the responsible Center for International Relations and the International Office of the University of Cologne – coordinator: Sarah-Marleen Dannenberg by direct dialing 7494.
